Product Care
All floor carpet, carpet tiles, vinyl and laminate flooring at Carpet Shed are manufactured to a high standard. To keep your carpet tiles and carpet in pristine condition, it will require some simple maintenance. Whether you choose to purchase our commercial carpet or floating floors from our carpet factory, we take pride in our quality products.
Preventative measures
Keeping your carpet in pristine condition begins by undertaking preventative measures. When installing your new carpet, ensure you have a good quality underlay. Doing this will give you longer carpet life expectancy and will look better for longer.
If you wish to use protective mats, place doormats outside before you enter. This will allow excessive dirt and substances to be left outside, and not on your new wholesale carpet. Discount carpets are an effective way to save money, but with preventative measures in place your carpet will always look as good as new.
Regular vacuuming
Vacuuming your floor carpet is the most important step in maintaining your new carpet. To keep your carpet looking brand new, you need to vacuum frequently in areas that receive a lot of traffic. If your carpet is used often, it means soil particles will find their way beneath the surface. Vacuuming frequently will reduce the soil particles and stop it from getting deep in the fibres. You cannot 'over-vacuum' your new carpet.
Steam cleaning
After you purchase your carpet from our carpet outlet and have it installed by our Carpet Shed professionals, you need to ensure you care for it accordingly. Approximately every two years you should consider steam cleaning your carpet. Steam cleaning is a great way to clean beneath the surface of your carpet. Steam cleaning should be done by a professional to ensure your carpet is kept in optimal condition.
Removal of spots and spills
Most floor carpets at Carpet Shed are made to be stain and soil resistant, but sometimes accidents happen and you need to remove the stains. Although we provide customers with cheap carpet, care and attention must be paid to retain value for money. Prompt attention should be paid when these accidents occur so that your carpet can last for years to come.
- Always test any cleaning agents in an inconspicuous area first.
- SCOOP up solids before cleaning
- BLOT as much liquid as possible using clean white towelling or paper towel. Never scrub carpet.
- CLEAN the carpet after referring to the Spot Removal Guide. Apply spot removal agent to a clean towel, NOT directly to the carpet.
- RINSE with cold or lukewarm water only.
- BLOT DRY with absorbent material such as paper towels, or use a cold air fan to completely dry.
